Finally, a website for the entire Muslim family. As Muslims, we face many challenges trying to raise a family in the West. As parents, we have juggle work and family life while still dealing everyday stresses. And Muslim children don’t have it any easier. They must also deal with the negative influences of the media, peer pressure, and self-esteem. However, with the help of Allah, we can overcome these issues and raise a strong Muslim family.
Islam is the glue that holds the Muslim family together, and Islam is vital to our success. In fact, Islam is a favor to us from Allah, and it is our responsibility to take full advantage of it and make sure we raise our Muslim families accordingly. Allah states in His book: They impress on you as a favor that they have embraced Islam. Say, “Count not your Islam as a favor upon me: Nay, Allah has conferred a favor upon you that he has guided you to the Faith if you be true and sincere.” Chapter 49:17 And in another part of the Quran Allah commands us: “O you who believe! Save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones.” Chapter 66:6 When it comes to children, there’s much we can do to help them become good Muslims, Inshallah. Much of it starts before they are even born. For instance, choosing a good Muslim baby name. Also making sure certain Islamic traditions are followed after the child’s birth. And as they grow older, we should try to provide wholesome entertainment when it comes to children’s books and television. And of course, we must provide a quality education for our Muslim family.
